I've been trying, but it's been hard. With two kids in school and their end of school expenses make it difficult to not spend.

One thing I have done in my No Spend month is plan frugal meals and not eat out. I believe I've saved at least $500.00 by doing this alone! Next month I'm going to tackle the utility bills!

We have been eating from the garden more, and cooking less expensive meals. I try to make more meals that feed our family for $2 for all 7 of us instead of those that cost $5 for all of us. I've been mending clothes so that my husband and I still have something to wear. Recently, someone gave us some curtains that she had hanging in her old house that she just moved from. I used some of them to make a dress for my daughter (I don't have pictures up yet but I will soon). The dress is beautiful, and I didn't have to buy her a new dress.

I picked peaches and apricots from a woman who was not going to use all that her trees produced. My family is enjoying the fresh fruit, and I am canning the rest of it (including some as baby food for the child who will be born next year).

I need to jump back on the wagon so to speak --- I would love to pay off a bit more this year & I just have not had it in me these past few months - I think I have been lazy. But I would love to get back & get to super frugal & get things paid off - dd starts kindergarten & I have been told that 'school years' are pretty expensive. then adding college on top -- I surely need to get my butt in gear!!!
