Back in December I joined Sara (A Frugal Wife) in the £2,014 in 2014 Challenge*. The idea is to make and/or save an extra £2,014 throughout 2014.

*I’m doing the challenge December to November because of how our budget is set up.

May Extra Income Total: £36.64

- £30.07  Items sold
- £4.04 Cashback (Quidco)
- £2.53 Interest

Money saved, not spent*: £23.75

*Money saved, not spent is from our budget categories (ignoring the mortgage payment).

Progress so far: £994.65/£2,014

£2014 in 2014

May was a fairly rubbish month for extra income as I spent most of it ignoring the challenge. But I’m refocused and  June totals should be much better…….which roughly translated means I stopped procrastinating and listed a few items on ebay!!

I still need to make/find an extra £1,019.35 – an average of £169.89 a month –  to complete the challenge, but I’m hoping to still make it.

Selling a power walker accounts for most of the items sold income. The interest is from a cash savings account.

The spreadsheet shows my monthly total, my cumulative total (£934.26), the month by month target/goal, and how much I still have to make (£1,079.74). Keeping it up to date really helps me to stay on track of the numbers.

Are you doing the challenge? If so are you making good progress?
Hat tip to Sara for starting the challenge this year

I finally sold some jewelry I’ve been holding onto for a long time and it really boosted my total this month! I also got paid a little cash back.

It’s early days to have made any progress in April, but I’m hoping my Decluttering Challenge will help me to add a little cash towards my totals.

Talking of totals here’s a screenshot showing you what my challenge spreadsheet looks like on one side. The other side (not shown as it’s too big) is just columns for all the different ways I’m making a little extra money.
