Variable Household Expenses Breakdown:
Gas & Electricity: We really dropped the ball with our energy costs last winter, and we're still playing catch up. As of today our account is still £200 in the red, but I'm really monitoring our usage and we should be about level in September. I'll then ask for the monthly payment to be reduced. We're still on the cheapest tariff for our area, so it's up to us to keep our usage as low as possible until we move. Yay for downsizing!
Grocery: I've bumped this up for August so that I can make a donation to a food bank. (Thanks for the heads up Sue (& Jack)).
Window Cleaner: We didn't see the window cleaner in July, but this cost will stay until we move.
Phone: I love my iPhone, but I'm not interested in upgrading it. My current contract is up in December, and then I'll be going onto a sim only contract.
Other expenses: The breakdown of the £155 is: Gifts (£40), the annual cost of our garden collection bin (£17), a haircut for me (£35) and a trip to London (£63)
Any money outside of these budget limits will be channeled to house repairs. I'm estimating we need about £4.5k to totally finish the house (eek!). More to come on that in another post.
Our outgoings this month are 56% of our monthly income. Which is a
little lot over our ongoing target of living on less than 50% [of our monthly income]. I'm going to do a car boot sale, but I doubt I'll make £300+. If I make £100 I'll be happy
