One thing I always realise when I'm in New York is just how unfit I am! My legs, and my feet for that matter, feel like they're going to drop off! But despite that I'm still trying to see as much as possible while we're here.
Thursday after spending the day walking around Soho and the Flatiron District, we had dinner at a singing bar, Ellens Stardust Diner (we're staying near Times Square for this stay and decided to go with the whole tourist thing!) before going to Madison Square Garden to see Alicia Keys (who was awesome!).
It's at least ten years since I last saw her in concert and I couldn't help thinking about how much my life has changed for the better in those ten years.
Friday we had a wander down Lexington Avenue and then spent a good while in Bloomingdales, mainly to keep out of the rain! Then is was back to our room to rest our sore legs before going to the MOMA - It's free entry after 4pm on a Friday, but the queue does get very long. We arrived around 5.30pm and got inside within ten minutes, so not too bad at all. Normal pricing is $25 per person so this is a good way to save a little money.
Spending Thursday: $271.66
- $95.92 Drinks, Food & Tips
- $32.55 House (CB2)
- $95.81 House (West Elm)
- $16.87 T- Shirt (Banana Republic)
- $30.51 Gifts
Spending Friday: $58.99
- $58.99 Drinks, Food & Tips
+ Drinks I missed from Tuesday $17.97
+ Yankees Tickets £40.45
Total spent so far $537.56 + £40.45 (Budget £500/$750)
I'll work everything out properly when we get home as a lot of these costs are on our credit card - it's free to use abroad and so far (I've had a quick look) the exchange rate looks to be favourable ($1.53/£1.00).
Okay I'm off to wake hubby up and get breakfast. Then it's either Brooklyn Bridge or the Library, before going to the Yankees game!
