There are two things which have helped me to get debt free more than anything else 1. writing this blog (and the support gained from it ♥) and 2. the Money Saving Expert site.
The ‘how to save money advice’ on MSE is invaluable. And when I recently read on MSE that a few companies were offering free roof insulation for all, I jumped at the chance. Apparently big energy providers have Carbon Emission Reduction Targets and must pump money into making homes more efficient.
We do have a very small amount of loft insulation, just not enough to say that our loft is insulated, and so we qualify to get it done for free. On top of that there’s also the added benefits of a warmer house and cheaper heating bills. Win/win!
UK readers: If you want to sign up for this service you need to act fast – I think all installs have to be completed before the end of November.
