I’m finding it really hard to totally empty our freezer but I’m hopeful that by tomorrow evening I’ll be good to go – I refuse to throw anything away and using up everything seemed to take forever! To speed up the process next time I’m going to ask my neighbour to store a few things for me.
I went grocery shopping today, using cash, and spent £50.57 – £21 of that was coffee. It was on offer so I bought 6 large jars. There’s a further grocery spending post to come on Wednesday as I’ve finally started a food inventory/cost sheet…it’s only been on my to do list for about 3 years!
Okay that’s it for today. Have a great day

Lovely weekly menu Laura!
I know what you mean about emptying the freezer. We are trying too.
Great news about stockpiling that coffee. It is so expensive but good coffee is such a treat.
Sft x
Coffee is one of the things I will spend money on
Great menu! You sound like me – I’ve had it on my to-do list to start a good inventory cost sheet, then also start calculating the cost of recipes. I’ve got the inventory cost sheet now. I’ve calculated 3 recipes. So I’m making progress!!
Glad to see you at OrgJunkie. I’ll be looking for you next week!
Hi Betsy. I kept putting it off because it seemed such a big job to undertake, and it is! I haven’t even thought about counting the cost of recipes…..yet
Great menues! I wish I was so organized, but it’s just me, so I often wonder if it’s worth it to make a plan like that. I’m going to try smaller, more focused shops over the summer and see if that helps. That way I can gauge what I’m using and when, and use it up faster. Less waste is always a good thing, too!
Thank you. I would live on soup if there was only me to feed. Small grocery shops sound like a good way to go
We really need to eat out of our freezer too! It’s kind of overflowing right now
Your menu sounds great! Weekly menu really helps us to stay on track!
Hi Lena. I’ve done my freezer – it feels great to be able to shut the drawers properly – now I just need to fill it up again!
