Selling stuff....again!

I did a little de-cluttering back in February and somehow found enough stuff to start thinking about doing a another car boot sale - I say somehow because I though we were pretty streamlined at home and I do wonder where all this stuff comes from!?
Anyway, back to the selling. As well as planning a car boot sale (which is like a yard sale but done from your car boot in a field), I've listed a few things on Amazon and taken a few photos ready for eBay.

I don't expect to make too much money, but it would be nice to snowflake a little extra towards our mortgage debt in March/April. Getting it paid down is a big priority for us right now.

  1. For car boot sales, do all the cars just show up, or do you have to book and rent a space at the field :)

In general you just show up at some unearthly hour in the morning! Some you book a space.

  2. For a minute I was very confused, but then I googled "boot" and figured it all out;-) In the US when your car gets "booted" it's a device they put over your tire so you can't move it (after you've illegally parked), then they give you a huge fine.

I'm going to try to sell some stuff on craigslist this month. We don't have the mortgage to pay on yet, but it's coming and it's scary!

    1. Hi Kari - we called that 'clamping'. It makes me smile all the different ways we all have of saying things.

    1. I'm not even sure if I have enough to car boot, but I'm venturing into the shed, so I probably will have!

  6. When I motivate myself I do quite well on e-bay. I really hate doing car boot sales and haven't done one for years. I dislike the constant haggling over selling stuff. I have only ever sold 1 book through amazon and it was quite a rare one and I got £50 for it!! is it better to sell books through amazon or ebay?

    1. I always think Amazon for books, although a lot of paperbacks are just a penny anyway. It depends on the book.

  7. I have LOADS of stuff to sell, sorted out over the course of our move, and we are continuing to streamline even more over the next couple of months.

I can't wait for the first car boots of the season to kick off. There are some winter ones round here but they tend to be full of traders and you never do as well at them I find. I love a field with lots of genuine sellers, the atmosphere is always brilliant.

    2. Usually April or May, the season tends to kick off at Easter really and that's early this year so it bodes well for lots of lovely sales!!

Thanks for the reply Sue - early May sounds like a good time for me to do one :)
