Weekly Spending Update - January 2012 #3

Monday:
No spend day
Tuesday:
No spend day
Wednesday:
No spend day
Thursday:
No spend day
Friday:
No spend day
Saturday:
£11.02 Grocery
Sunday:
No spend day

Woot 6 no spend days! Although I did nearly get led astray by Am*zon....I put five books into my shopping basket, but quickly emptied it...I could feel Carla watching me lol. I've now ordered most of the books from the library. Much cheaper at £1.00 a book!

I decided against a big supermarket shop this weekend as hubby is away working again for most of next week....it's really helping me to stay within my grocery budget. I'll need to pick up some bread & cheese within the next couple of days, but apart from that my daughter and I are eating from the cupboards.

  1. THAT IS TRULY AMAZING LAURA! THE QUEEN OF THE NO SPEND DAYS! HOW MANY HAVE YOU HAD THIS MONTH?

You don't have long left on the challenge but look at all you've achieved.

Carla, you have alot to answer for, look at how frugal we are all becoming! Only joking I'm delighted at everyone's success!

    1. 15 I think lol - although I haven't done a lot - I wouldn't want every month to be like this. It really helps that hubby is only home for 2/3 nights a week at the moment :(

  7. Wow, congrats on the all of the no spends! That's awesome and an inspiration to me. I'm in need of having less spend days over the coming months as I come closer to paying off one of my larger credit cards. I've got to stay focused like you!

  8. Thank you.
I'm so grateful to Carla for starting this challenge because it's stopped me from regaining my spending habit - not a big habit, just a little bit every day, which can soon add up.

No spend days really do help us to reach our goals quicker :)

    Good luck!

  9. Wow, you're doing great! Amazon is a weakness for me too - you should see my wish list! Unfortunately nearly all the books on my wish list aren't available in the library, otherwise I'd borrow them instead.

    1. That's always my problem - I can't get the books that I need (want) from our library so I go to Amazon. I'm not against book buying - although I do prefer to use the library
