Every month I try to keep my grocery spending below £250 (preferably £230). For most of the year I've struggled to hit this goal, but this month, so far so good.
My current system for grocery shopping (because to stay within budget I think you have to have a system) is a once a week trip to the farm shop for produce and eggs and a once a week trip to a supermarket. I've stopped shopping in between these visits, so if we run out of something midweek, then we go without. This is really helping to keep the budget in check.
I'm also still menu planning, which at times gets tedious, but it really keeps my costs down.....it also stops my two adult children from eating the chicken ear marked for tomorrows dinner!
Onto my figures for the month so far;
Week 1: £46.49
Week 2: £61.00
One happy girl.....so far
Let me know, are you managing to keep to your budget this month?
