I’m trying to get a leap on May so I’m finishing off all our accounting for April early…secretly I’m preparing for a few days away from the Internet Royal Wedding Fever.
Every month I have a budget of £100/$158 for personal spending.
The best thing about my personal spending this month is the lack of grocery overspend….which normally sneaks onto the spreadsheet: Grocery spend this month £249.56, under £250! Yay!
- Dentist was for my bi-annual check up. All was well so no extra payments.
- I normally deduct fees for selling stuff from my extra income before posting..not this time!
- Clothes was for these (after voucher spend)
I’m rolling the money left over into my e-saver which I keep for miscellaneous spending…like some new jeans when I finally lose a bit more weight!!
So how did you do this month?

Congratulations with keeping your personal spending and food budget down! I’ve been bad with personal spending this fortnight, we just had a 5 day weekend in Australia and there were lots of social celebrations!
Are you watching the Royal wedding? We don’t get a public holiday here for it but nearly everyone I know has planned a party of some sort.
This month has been my best for saving. I never stick within my budget and this month I’m way below it. I’ve made sure to be super frugal and this has allowed me to lower my largest expense which is groceries.

Congrats on the budget! Great job!!
We actually did awesome this month! And I did 2 organic meat orders, 2 of my daughters birthdays & Easter!! Will be posting about it soon!
thats great you made the grocery budget goal, I’m looking forward to the royal wedding, I can only imagine how much it must be in the news over there!
So jealous of your royal wedding! I plan to get to work extra early on Friday so I can catch some of the royal happenings on our big screen. Congrats for finally getting under your grocery budget – that is a huge feat! We did ok, under budget for food and gas I think. Haven’t tallied the final figures yet.
@saving for travel..I’m trying to avoid it! lol, but my neighbours want a party so I may have to concede defeat!
@Ravi well done, it’s not easy to reduce grocery spending at the moment!
@Carla sounds like you had a good month!
@ Louise it’s impossible to avoid so I’m leaving the TV off! humbug!!
@Jane thanks..hopefully your budget will make good reading….fingers crossed…as for the wedding; trying to avoid at all costs!
