What triggers you to spend money needlessly? Are there several things or just the one?
I know the one single thing that causes me to spend money, tiredness. Being tired and run down can cause me to take a trip to the coffee shop, buy a ready meal for dinner, or stop me making my packed lunch in the morning; it can also make me run wild on Amazon!
The cure to stop me buying stuff has nothing to do with how many credit cards I have, even though I'm credit card free now, its whether I've had a good nights sleep or not.
What about you? What can cause you to spend money?

I with you on that one! Tiredness is right.
So is not planning. Not planning what is for dinner. Not planning the grocery list. Not planning an vacation's agenda. It's all potential for a costly bill. ;)
(yes, unfortunately I know from experience)
Tiredness, depression, feeling out of control... none of those are good things...
My worse time though is when I am out with my kids and feeling harassed!
@ RML - I remember it well!
@Christine, yes, lack of planning can really cause extra spending :-)
Flying. Get me in an airport and I have spent $25 at least by the time I'm 10 feet past security. Starbucks, a few tabloids, the snack I forgot to pack, a trashy novel because the stuff I brought for my trip suddenly seems too taxing for a tedious wait in a cramped seat... I normally never spend money on that stuff. Luckily I don't fly a lot for my job, but it never fails.
I think getting comfortable makes me spend more. It's when I am not conscious that I tend to get lazy and then all hell breaks loose!
Hunger! I'm horrible and grumpy when I'm hungry and will pay any price to make it go away. O I'm hungry when shopping I won't pay attention to price I just want to get in and get out of the store, not shop around.
is this terrible? probably... but being in a discount grocery store triggers all my spending. Oooh, bulk cinnamon? load me up! who cares we never eat artichokes, look at that deal! I have to go to "normal" grocery stores just so I don't fill the cart up with stuff we won't eat (cheap stuff, sure, but 40% by dollar more stuff that we'll never eat / use in time? not really worth it).
