anyways you really should have a much larger emergency fund that what you do. It only takes one large bill to wipe out your meager savings and your back to using CCs again.
hi rob dh and I have over £1500 in a savings if we need it and if I need money I can always stop the £300 extra I'm paying towards mortgage overpayments every month.:) I will never use a credit card again!
sharon - me and dh for 4 weeks, 2 children for 2 weeks only as they are on hols with their dad. I've been anywhre between £200-£275 when we are all at home (eldest hardly eats at home so I don't count her)
Cripes! I've budgeted with £160 for just me and my daughter. Mind you, I am having Richard over for dinner a few times and another friend once so I suppose I'm not going OTT really.
One of the 'guest' meals is Ostrich Fillet and that's not exactly cheap. I don't like to just serve up Spag Bol or pasta salad when I've invited somebody over but maybe that's what I really ought to do while I'm trying to pay off the debts?
one of these weeks we will be in Portugal - we are self catering apart from 3 evening meals which we have saved for in our holiday budget - we hit the supermarket in Faro when we land and stock up for the week -it'll be interesting to see if the prices have gone up there as well
damm, forget to login and lost my comment!

Hi Laura. Can I just ask how many of you the £180 grocery bill needs to cover?
