The little things......magazine addiction

Does this look like a home owner with a magazine addiction?

Yes, I thought so. Today I've cancelled the two most expensive subscriptions saving myself £68 a year. I'm considering cancelling them all, but at the moment I'm taking one step at a time:)

I know I'm not the only one who likes magazines as plonkee recently discussed her struggle not to buy them and got 33 comments, so its a popular subject.

  2. Same here. I have a vast collection of magazines and my mom has several too. I can't help cancelling my subscriptions. Since I started working in 2000, i've 5 magazine subscriptions. When I got married last year, I decided to cancel the others and just leave with the 2 which I think is important and will help me with being a frugal homemaker - Good Housekeeping (philippines) and Yummy Food Magazine (philippines).

  3. I had a bunch of different scrapbook subscriptions coming in that I never ended up reading. So I blacked out my address and then sold them in a flat rate box on eBay to a gal in Switzerland for more then I paid for them. I am saving up another big stack and didn't end up canceling my subscription- because I have a racket going... :p

  4. I love magazines too!! I think you're very brave to wean yourself off of them. It's far better than going "cold turkey". I wonder if they have a magazine addiction anonymous???

  6. I used to be pretty bad with magazines. I always had to have one for my commute back and forth to work. After a while though the magazines are all the same and didn't seem to say anything new. And they were getting expensive. I'm down to one that I subscribe to since it's cheaper than buying every month. And that subscription I got on Amazon which gave me a $5 coupon toward another purchase.
